As we approach the final months of FY21 and prepare for FY22, I am writing to provide an update on the university’s financial health and ongoing budget work across the university.

Today is National Employee Appreciation Day and I am filled with gratitude to be President of such a great institution.

Welcome to Employee Recognition Week at µÛÍõ»áËù! I want to begin by stating how thankful I am for each of our employees.

I would like to provide an update on the University of Northern Colorado’s strategic planning efforts.

I am pleased to announce the Board approved Phase 1 of our Strategic Plan, Rowing, Not Drifting 2030.

This afternoon, Colorado Governor Jared Polis announced K-12 teachers would begin to be vaccinated on February 8 to help protect them, their students, and their families from COVID-19.

Like many of you, the insurrection that occurred in our nation's capital last week has left me struggling to make sense of where we find ourselves as Americans, especially as it adds to the weight of so many other events that have taken place over the past year.

Welcome back! I hope you had a restful winter break and are looking forward to the spring semester as much as I am.

As we conclude this year and look ahead to 2021, I reflect on the challenges we have endured, as well as the uplifting moments experienced within our campus community.

Throughout 2020, µÛÍõ»áËù has worked together to be responsive and flexible in the face of uncertainty, and we remain committed to keeping our community connected, safe, and supported with every decision we make.
