On behalf of the University of Northern Colorado Board of Trustees, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Kamel Haddad, Ph.D. as interim president of µÛÍõ»áËù, effective Aug. 2. This decision follows a collaborative evaluation process conducted by the board over the past several weeks.

The March Newsletter contains information about checkpoint applications, advice from current student teachers, a scholarship opportunity during student teaching, K-12 Educator Employment Fair, and volunteer opportunities. Additionally, the newsletter has information about making up the large group advising session, mentoring hours, and Praxis support.

Building Reading and Writing Skills at the Center for Urban Education

University leadership is aware of recent reports regarding allegations involving César Chávez, as well as statements from leaders in the farmworker movement, including Dolores Huerta. We recognize that this news may be difficult and concerning for members of our community, and we are continuing to monitor and assess the situation.

As we continue moving forward following President Feinstein’s announcement that he will step down on August 1, 2026, we want to share an update on the presidential search process.

Earlier today, President Feinstein shared with the campus community his decision to step down from his role effective Aug. 1, 2026.
