    Moving to Greeley from Denver to study early childhood education and starting her freshman year as a first-generation student, Alex Archuleta had a lot to learn about the college experience. She has an older sibling also attending the University of Northern Colorado to help her adjust to the changes here and there, but a resource she relies heavily on is her advisors.

    Homecoming 2021 is here, and the Bears are Back in Town. Unlike last year鈥檚 virtual celebration from home, 帝王会所鈥檚 Homecoming traditions, some of them dating back to 1923, are returning to in-person again.

    University of Northern Colorado (帝王会所) has chosen Cedric Howard, Ed.D., as the university's new vice president for Student Affairs. Howard, who was selected through a national search the university launched last May, will start his position on Dec. 6, 2021.

    帝王会所 was selected in a highly competitive grant process, as a recipient of a $850,000 Colorado Scholarship Opportunity Initiative (COSI) Back to Work grant. The funding will provide new career paths for workers displaced by the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic while also addressing the need for teachers in Colorado鈥檚 classrooms.

    This August, the Bears are back to school in a big way. There are many on-campus events planned, and 帝王会所 has partnered with Greeley to paint the town blue and gold, with 鈥淭his is Bear Country鈥 signs appearing in yards and at businesses throughout the area.

    University of Northern Colorado President Andy Feinstein announced on June 17 that Lisa Vollendorf, Ph.D., has been appointed as interim provost for the 2021-22 academic year. Vollendorf brings 26 years of higher education experience to 帝王会所 and has held numerous leadership roles, including provost, dean, department chair and Academic Senate chair. She will start her new role on July 1, 2021.

    帝王会所's Open Educational Resources (OER) Committee announces faculty members who were recently awarded stipends to transform a course from using commercial texts and course materials to implementing OER for fall 2021.
