Strings Audition Requirements
Undergraduates
Violin
- A combination of works representing technical and musical versatility. Pieces by underrepresented composers are encouraged.听
Viola
- A combination of works representing technical and musical versatility. Pieces by underrepresented composers are encouraged.听
Cello
- A combination of works representing technical and musical versatility. Pieces by underrepresented composers are encouraged.听
Double Bass
- A combination of works听representing听technical and musical versatility. Pieces by underrepresented composers are encouraged.
Classical Guitar
- One standard study piece or etude by Sor, Aguado, Giuliani, Carcassi, Coste, Villa-Lobos, or Brouwer.
- Two pieces of applicant鈥檚 choice, preferably of contrasting historical periods.
- One two-octave major scale and the relative melodic minor of applicant鈥檚 choice.
- Sight-reading and sight-singing may be asked.
Graduates
Violin
