With multiple meal plan options available, there is something that will work for everyone, whether you are a first-year student, returning student, transfer student, or graduate student. Your schedule is full of classes, study time, work, and a little fun too. You shouldn't have to worry about shopping, cooking, or cleaning up, so let us do that for you!

There are several meal plan options available, so depending on where you're living and what your classification is, you may have different options available to you. Check out the options below to see what you can choose from.

The is currently open for Fall 2025. Registered students can log in to purchase a meal plan and/or Dining Dollars at any time. Fall meal plans are valid Wednesday, August 20 - Friday, December 12. All contract changes must be made by 5pm on the Drop Deadline of each semester (September 8).

Dining Contract Portal

Registered students -- please use the dining portal to manage your dining contract starting on these dates:

Fall 2025: opens Tuesday, July 29 @ 10am
Spring 2026: opens Tuesday, December 2 @ 10am
Summer 2026: opens Tuesday, May 5 @ 10am

As a registered student, you can add a meal plan (and dining dollars) any time during the semester. All dining contract changes must be completed by 5pm on these dates:

Fall 2025: Monday, September 8
Spring 2026: Monday, January 26

  • How do meal plans work?

All meal plans contain two different types of "money" to spend - meal swipes and Dining Dollars. Meal swipes can be used in the dining rooms and are valid for one semester. Dining Dollars can be used at any campus dining location and are valid for the academic year. (Any Dining Dollars balances left over in December will carry over to the Spring semester. All Dining Dollars expire at the end of Spring semester.)

  • What meal plan am I allowed to have?

Students living on campus are required to carry an On Campus Meal Plan throughout the academic year (per the Housing and Dining contract).

First-year students living on campus can choose from one of two On Campus Meal Plans. If you are considered a sophomore or above in standing (at least 20 years old or 20 earned credit hours by the university-published Drop Deadline), you can choose from two additional On Campus Meal Plan options.

Students who are a sophomore or above in standing who live in Lawrenson Hall, the Arlington Park Apartments, or one of the µÛÍõ»áËù-owned houses are exempt from the meal plan requirement. They can choose to carry any meal plan available, just Dining Dollars, or no meal plan.

Students living off campus can choose from any meal plan offered, including On Campus Meal Plans, Off Campus Bear Plans, just Dining Dollars, or nothing at all. We recommend you have a few Dining Dollars on your account, just in case you're on campus and need a drink or a snack!

Remember, you are not charged tax when you use Dining Dollars to purchase food and drinks on campus. Think of it as a 7% discount when you use your Dining Dollars at our campus dining locations.

  • How do I sign up for my meal plan?

It's easy! The dining portal opens about 30 days prior to the first day of classes for each semester. (The date is usually listed in the blue box at the top of the page.) Once that date arrives and you have registered for classes, you can login to the and make your choice. If you're not sure which meal plan to choose, you can always make adjustments up through 5pm on the Drop Deadline (10th day of classes).

Only need to purchase more Dining Dollars? You can do that too in the dining portal!

  • How do I see my meal swipe balance? Or my Dining Dollars balance?

The Dining Portal is your place to go to check your account balances for meals, Dining Dollars, and Meal Exchanges. You can also give your parents or support people guest access so they can add Dining Dollars to your account by credit card.

Helpful tip: Think of the balance shown for Meal Exchange as a counter/tracker only -- it's only there to show you how many Meal Exchanges you've used so far that week. It has nothing to do with the balance on your meal plan.
