At Campus Connections, we work with local groups to help kids in our community. When you refer a young person to our program, you give them chances to learn, grow, and get support from mentors. Together, we can help youth succeed, build strong connections, and make a positive difference in their lives.

Refer a Youth

µÛÍõ»áËù Campus Connections welcomes referrals for youth ages 11–18 who live in Weld County. Many referrals come from community partners, like the Juvenile Court, District Attorney’s Office, Probation, and school staff such as counselors and resource officers.

Families can also refer youth directly. Many youth return to Campus Connections and even bring their siblings, even if it’s not required.

Referrals are accepted anytime. We try to enroll all youth as space allows. We aim for youth to start during the first week of each session (fall or spring), but youth can join anytime during the 12-week session if spots are available.

Referral Process

After we get the referral form, someone from the Campus Connections team will call to set up an intake meeting with the youth and their parent(s) or guardian(s). After this first meeting, the youth will be registered for Campus Connections. If you have questions or want more information, you can contact the Campus Connections Office.

Benefits

µÛÍõ»áËù

Each week, youth get one-on-one mentoring. They can get help with schoolwork, explore µÛÍõ»áËù’s campus, eat a free healthy dinner, make friends, and do fun activities. The program helps youth learn life skills, feel more confident, and take part in their community. It also supports families and helps µÛÍõ»áËù students become community leaders.

Campus Connections is part of µÛÍõ»áËù’s Department of Applied Psychology and Counselor Education. This department also runs the Psychological Services Clinic, which offers counseling and testing for Greeley and nearby communities.

Because Campus Connections is located entirely on a college campus, youth experience firsthand the possibilities of education and the importance of learning.

Campus Connections provides resources and support to help youth increase their academic success and start planning for their future.

Campus Connections is grounded in evidence-based practices for youth mentoring and aims to strengthen youth life skills, self-confidence, and productive engagement with the community.

Mentors are trained by Campus Connections staff and receive multi-level support each week.

µÛÍõ»áËù

Youth Outcomes

At µÛÍõ»áËù, we are currently evaluating Campus Connections to better understand the effects of the program. Colorado State University (CSU) implemented Campus Connections in 2008. Since then, CSU has been researching outcomes for a number of years. Initial program results indicate positive effects for participants involved in Campus Connections. View reports of .
