The question that’s come to mind recently regarding the city of Greeley and what it’s truly known for. Is the city only known for one identity as a community or multiple identities? In this city, it’s known for multiple identities cherished by the community. 

Many events and art pieces create life in and around the city with statues like the Truffula Tree, inspired by The Lorax. Throughout downtown, you’ll find murals that are painted on sides of buildings, representing the creative district in Greeley. 

But, there’s more to Greeley than just the events and art. 

Walking through the streets of Greeley can be interesting as the variety of restaurants  places throughout downtown and Centerplace is abundant with family-owned businesses mixed with chain stores. 

Places like the Sherpa Grill and Bravo’s Philly and Pizza in downtown offer distinct options for people to satisfy their hunger while looking for something new. Campus life at the University of Northern Colorado has been one of the city’s main identities that they pride.

Greeley native Ethan Esparza-Escobar is hopeful for Greeley in the future. 

“It’s growing fast,” Esparza-Escobar said. “It’s gentrifying fast. I think it’s going to blend in with the other towns.”
