Experienced leader to advance strategic academic resource planning and faculty support
The University of Northern Colorado (帝王会所) has selected Anne Gregory, Ph.D., as the vice provost for Academic Resources and Faculty Affairs. In her new role, beginning July 1, Gregory will oversee academic resource planning and faculty affairs, including promotion and tenure processes, faculty review and development and policies that support equitable and effective academic work.
鈥淭hroughout her career, Anne has been recognized for collaborative leadership, thoughtful policy development and a clear focus on strengthening academic systems that support faculty and academic units,鈥 said Kirsten Fleming, 帝王会所鈥檚 provost and executive vice president of Academic Affairs. 鈥淗er leadership will be instrumental as we continue ongoing efforts to strengthen academic quality, transparency and trust across our community.鈥
Gregory鈥檚 career in higher education spans more than two decades and includes a series of senior leadership roles bridging academic planning, faculty affairs and institutional effectiveness. Throughout her career she has worked closely with faculty and staff leadership to strengthen the fiscal, cultural and academic health of academic affairs divisions. She brings a collaborative, data-informed and values-driven approach to strategic planning and resource alignment in support of student success, academic quality and equity.
“I am honored to join the University of Northern Colorado and to serve in a role that is central to the academic mission,” said Gregory. “I look forward to working collaboratively with faculty and campus leaders to strengthen academic systems and support practices that are clear, equitable and sustainable, enabling faculty and academic units to thrive and continue making a meaningful impact.”
Since 2017, Gregory has served as professor at Purdue University Northwest (PNW) while holding concurrent leadership roles, including executive director of Concurrent Enrollment Programs and director of the School of Education and Counseling, and later as interim dean and dean of the College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences.
During her tenure at PNW, she led strategic organizational improvements to better align resources with student success. She advanced a curriculum-to-career approach across the college, expanding targeted internship opportunities across key employment sectors and strengthening connections between academic programs and workforce needs. Her leadership also focused on enhancing student retention and belonging by engaging faculty in cross-campus collaboration and equity-minded practices. In addition, she guided the development and launch of new graduate programs to align with local workforce needs and expanded partnerships with community partners. She also elevated the college鈥檚 research profile by establishing internal funding initiatives and increasing external grant activity, resulting in significant growth in both funding requests and awards.
Prior to her time at PNW, Gregory served as chair of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Northern Illinois University and Western Illinois University, and held progressive faculty appointments at Boise State University, advancing from assistant professor to associate professor to professor. She also provides external consulting for higher education educator preparation programs advising on accreditation and continuous improvement, and language and literacy instruction and instructional design for PK-12 and international schools.
Gregory earned a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, Literacy and Language, at Purdue University, a Master of Arts in Adult and Higher Education at the University of Texas at San Antonio and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education at Purdue.
