Moving to Greeley from Denver to study early childhood education and starting her freshman year as a first-generation student, Alex Archuleta had a lot to learn about the college experience. She has an older sibling also attending the University of Northern Colorado to help her adjust to the changes here and there, but a resource she relies heavily on is her advisors.

Latinx art, culture, language, and history took center stage fostering discussions and conversations around Latinx heritage during µÛÍõ»áËù’s Latinx Heritage Month.

Homecoming 2021 is here, and the Bears are Back in Town. Unlike last year’s virtual celebration from home, µÛÍõ»áËù’s Homecoming traditions, some of them dating back to 1923, are returning to in-person again.

University of Northern Colorado (µÛÍõ»áËù) has chosen Cedric Howard, Ed.D., as the university's new vice president for Student Affairs. Howard, who was selected through a national search the university launched last May, will start his position on Dec. 6, 2021.

This year, µÛÍõ»áËù's celebration of Latinx Heritage Month is coupled with an institutional commitment to better serve the growing population of Hispanic/Latinx-identifying students as the university launches a new website, affirming their journey and progress toward becoming a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI).

During the annual State of the University Address on Sept. 8, µÛÍõ»áËù President Andy Feinstein, along with several other university leaders, reflected on the challenges over the past year brought on by the pandemic and the importance of working together to overcome those challenges.

µÛÍõ»áËù was selected in a highly competitive grant process, as a recipient of a $850,000 Colorado Scholarship Opportunity Initiative (COSI) Back to Work grant. The funding will provide new career paths for workers displaced by the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic while also addressing the need for teachers in Colorado’s classrooms.

Since the beginning of fiscal year 2021, several generous µÛÍõ»áËù donors have collectively gifted more than $925,000 in support of newly established scholarships that support diversity, equity and inclusion here at µÛÍõ»áËù.
