New Graduate Student Orientation is open to all who want to learn more about university support for graduate students.

Welcome to µÛÍõ»áËù — we are excited to welcome you as a new graduate student! To help acquaint you to µÛÍõ»áËù we offer a New Graduate Student Orientation (NGSO). NGSO provides an overview of what to expect at µÛÍõ»áËù as well as the opportunity to meet other graduate students and university staff.

You are not required to attend NGSO, but it is a great opportunity to interact with other graduate students. You can also find information about the resources available to you and learn more about µÛÍõ»áËù. You may also want to check out the .

When you are on the Greeley campus, please feel free to stop by the Graduate School, in Carter Hall, room 2007, to meet us in person! You may also stop by Bear Central, located in the Campus Commons, and take a campus tour.

  • 8:15 a.m. – Check-in for campus tours
  • 8:20 a.m. – Tours leave
  • 9 a.m. – Tours return

8:30-9 a.m. – Check-in

9:15-11:45 a.m. – Introductions and sessions on:

  • Graduate School
  • Student Support Services, Rights and Responsibilities
  • Campus Resources

11:45 a.m.-1 p.m.

  • Lunch (Multi-purpose Hall)
  • Resource Fair (Campus Commons Lobby)

1-2 p.m. Workshop Session 1

  • Workshop A (Multipurpose Hall) – Writing for Graduate School, led by Maria Lahman, Ph.D.
  • Workshop B (TBA) – Minding Your Mental Health in Graduate School.

2:15-3:15 p.m. Workshop Session 2

  • Workshop C (Multipurpose Hall) – “How do I get it all done?!” Time Management Strategies, led by Sohail Akvhein, Director of the Disability Resource Center, and Joseph Pastina, Ph.D. student and GA for the Dean of Students.
  • Workshop D (TBA) – Creating Your Personal Development Plan for Academic and Professional Development.
